Before Pressed, there was Kaylin's Bakeshoppe.

Before taking over ownership of Pressed Books & Coffee in 2024, I was the bake designer, creative director, photographer, and chief taste-tester (alongside my sweet husband, Mack, and our daughters) behind Kaylin’s Bakeshoppe. Mack was the baking chemist, co–recipe developer, and bookkeeper behind the scenes — the other half of our flour-covered dream team.

What started as baking cakes and desserts for family and friends quickly grew into a small cottage bakery operation in our Lakeland home in 2019. Under the name Kaylin’s Cakery, and later Kaylin’s Bakeshoppe, we poured our hearts into creating custom cakes, cookies, brownies, breads, and chocolate confections — recipes perfected through years of love, late nights, and lots of taste tests.

Our gourmet cookies, at nearly half a pound each, became our signature and the bridge to something bigger. As word spread and we began shipping cookies across the country, we started dreaming of a space where people could enjoy them fresh, but more importantly, enjoy them in community.

 

That dream led us to Pressed Books & Coffee — a place where our love for baking and storytelling now live side by side. Today, those same Bakeshoppe cookies are baked fresh in-store, ready to be served alongside a fresh brew of Ethos coffee.
